QS Electrician – Solar & Renewable Installations

We are looking for a qualified QS Electrician to take responsibility for electrical compliance across our solar PV installations, primarily on residential projects.

This role combines technical oversight with hands-on involvement where needed. It would suit someone experienced, organised and comfortable taking ownership of standards, certification and regulatory compliance within a growing business.

You will act as the Qualifying Supervisor for the business, ensuring all electrical work is carried out, tested and documented in line with current regulations. While there is a strong compliance focus, you will also remain close to site activity and support the wider team where required.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as the Qualifying Supervisor (QS) for electrical works
• Overseeing installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems
• Signing off electrical work and ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and scheme provider requirements
• Carrying out or reviewing inspection and testing (EICs, minor works, commissioning data)
• Supporting electricians on-site with technical guidance and issue resolution
• Auditing completed works to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained
• Maintaining accurate records of certification, inspections and compliance documentation
• Supporting the development of internal processes as the business grows

What we’re looking for

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• ECS Gold Card
• 18th Edition (BS 7671)
• Strong experience in inspection, testing and certification
• Confident in taking responsibility for compliance and sign-off
• Good working knowledge of current electrical regulations and best practice
• Able to work independently and provide oversight to others
• Practical, organised and detail-focused
• Full UK driving licence

Strongly desirable

• 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
• Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (or willingness to undertake)
• Solar PV installation experience
• Experience acting as a QS or in a compliance-focused role
• Experience working on domestic and/or small commercial sites

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
