Duties
- Respond promptly to crisis calls and mobile dispatches to assess individuals experiencing mental health emergencies in various community settings.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including risk evaluations and behavioral observations, utilizing clinical counseling techniques.
- Provide evidence-based interventions such as crisis management, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavioral therapy tailored to individual needs.
- Deliver specialized support for children, families, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, grief, addiction issues, and acute care scenarios.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, law enforcement, social services, and family members to develop comprehensive case management plans and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records compliant with HIPAA regulations using ICD-10/ICD coding systems for diagnoses such as ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.
- Collect data on client interactions and outcomes to support research efforts and improve crisis response strategies.
Requirements
- A valid license or certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
- Proven experience in crisis intervention, behavioral health counseling, or emergency mental health services.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, mental health diagnoses (ICD coding), and clinical documentation standards.
- Expertise in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), grief counseling, group therapy, and addiction counseling.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as children, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, and those with PTSD or trauma histories.
- Ability to perform patient assessments in high-pressure situations while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management within a healthcare setting.
- Competence in crisis management techniques and triage procedures for acute behavioral health emergencies.
