Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and motivated Qualified or Trainee Dental Nurse to join our busy and welcoming dental practice. This is a dual-role position combining chairside nursing duties with front-of-house reception responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient care, support clinicians during treatments, and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
This role is ideal for either:
- A qualified dental nurse registered with the GDC, or
- A trainee dental nurse currently enrolled on an approved dental nursing course
Previous dental reception experience is highly desirable
Dental Nursing Duties
- Assist dentists and hygienists during a wide range of dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilise instruments and treatment rooms in line with HTM 01-05 standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical notes
- Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after treatment
- Ensure cross-infection control procedures are followed at all times
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of dental materials and equipment
- Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
Reception Duties
- Welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Manage appointment bookings and diary coordination
- Answer telephone and email enquiries efficiently
- Process payments and maintain patient confidentiality
- Handle patient records and update practice management systems
- Support with recalls, follow-ups, and administrative tasks
- Assist in maintaining a smooth patient journey and positive patient experience
Qualifications
- recognised qualification in dental nursing or actively undertaking training towards certification
- Experience in patient care within a dental setting is desirable but not essential for trainees
- Strong communication skills with the ability to reassure and inform patients effectively
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and appointment management
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, to ensure clear communication with patients and team members
- A caring attitude with a genuine interest in providing high-quality patient care

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
