Job Summary
The Quality & Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s quality assurance and safety programs across both office and client site activities. This role ensures that engineering deliverables meet internal quality standards while supporting a proactive, OSHA-aligned safety culture.
This position bridges engineering, operations, and HR by promoting safe work practices, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in both project execution and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continuously improve the company Safety Manual and supporting programs
- Ensure alignment with OSHA standards and industry best practices
- Lead hazard assessments for office and client site activities (e.g., scanning, site walks)
- Develop and deliver safety training programs (general + role-specific)
- Manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions
- Maintain safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation
- Support workers’ compensation claims and audits
- Develop and implement QA/QC processes for engineering deliverables (drawings, models, reports
- Conduct internal audits of project documentation and IFC packages
- Standardize design review processes across disciplines
- Partner with engineering teams to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
- Track quality metrics and identify trends or recurring issues
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations
- Prepare documentation for client audits, ISN compliance, and prequalification requirements
- Support internal and external audits (safety, quality, workers’ comp)
- Maintain up-to-date regulatory knowledge and recommend updates as needed
- Provide safety guidance for employees visiting client sites
- Conduct occasional site visits to evaluate safety practices and risks
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to client-specific safety requirements
- Assist with pre-job safety planning and risk assessments
- Identify opportunities to improve safety culture and quality systems
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Promote a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in quality, safety or engineering environments
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or engineering consulting environments preferred
- OSHA 1926
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with ISN, Avetta, or contractor prequalification platforms
- Experience supporting workers’ compensation audits
Essential Functions:
- Travel by vehicle to client's site
