Quality Assurance Assistant

Job Summary:

The QA Assistant supports the QA Manager in establishing, documenting, implementing and maintaining an acceptable SQF system. The QA Assistant must be able to work cooperatively with Production and Management.

Shift:

• Day shift Monday – Friday

Authority:

• Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Manager

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in related field preferred (Must be at least 18 years old)

• Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety
• Problem-solving abilities
• Open and flexible to work with a diverse team of people
• Proficient with the internet and Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work alone and within a team
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
• Ability to speak, read, and write English - Spanish also a plus
• Comfortable in an office setting as well as production that handles milk and cheese
• If not fully qualified, on the job training is available

Responsibilities:

• Follow and implement all company Policies, SOPs, GMPs, HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plan, as well as SQF, State & Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Data entry into Excel spreadsheets.
• Assist with maintaining and organizing pertinent records.
• Assist with environmental swabbing, sampling raw ingredients, internal audits, and other inspections.
• Assist with document control.
• Assist the Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Manager with several projects.
