Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Assistant to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems to ensure products meet rigorous standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Duties
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining and achieving the Quality Assurance Objectives by performing visual inspections, functional testing, and dimensional inspections of products after in-house welding processes or receipt of parts from suppliers. Will maintain safety and environmental issues as a priority.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Additional responsibilities to the ones listed below may be assigned after discussion and agreement)
· Ability to read, speak, write, communicate and understand the English language without the use of interpretation tools
· Be reliable and able to consistently report to work every day and work a full day, during the appropriate scheduled times (some Weekday overtime and Saturday overtime work may be scheduled as needed, with notice)
· Understand, comply with and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
· Identify and document quality defects related to welding and product performance/functionality, using provided checklists
· Demonstrate the ability to properly use basic measurement tools including steel tape measures, steel rulers, calipers, etc.
· Understand and be able to use both English and Metric measurement scales
· Have the skills and knowledge to be able to read and interpret Engineering drawings, weld symbols, standards or specifications with minimal training
· Determine when a product is non-conforming by following the specified criteria that is provided and complete the provided non-compliance/non-conformance documentation when necessary
· Responsible for performing any 5-S (CANDO Workplace Organization) type of initiatives relating to this position
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· 2 years of experience with weld related and/or steel fabrication processes
· Demonstrate ability to read and understand specifications and basic Engineering drawings
· Demonstrate the ability to use basic measuring instruments
· Previous qualifications as a welder will greatly improve consideration for this position
SKILLS
· Ability to carry, handle and climb 12 Ft. tall A Frame type ladders
· Ability to work at heights of approx. 8 feet
· Ability to work down low at floor level
· Ability to Follow verbal Instructions and written processes
· Have 20/40 Corrected Vision or better in both eyes (same requirement as South Carolina Drivers License)
· Ability to perform some work outdoors in all weather conditions as well as indoors (most work is indoors in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment)
· Good communicator and the ability to work well and interact with others to deliver critical feedback in a positive way
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
