The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing MidAtlantic Mechanical’s Quality Assurance and Control programs to ensure all work meets or exceeds company standards, project specifications, industry codes, and client requirements. This role provides strategic oversight of quality processes, supervises inspections and audits, drives continuous improvement, and partners closely with project management and field leadership to deliver high‑quality projects safely, efficiently, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Program Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide QA/QC policies, procedures, and standards
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance across all projects.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for quality-related matters.
Project & Field Oversight
- Oversee and manage quality inspections of incoming materials, in‑progress work, and completed installations.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, company standards, and client quality requirements.
- Support project-specific Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and turnover requirements.
Nonconformance & Corrective Action Management
- Lead the identification, documentation, tracking, and resolution of nonconforming work.
- Develop and verify corrective and preventive action plans in collaboration with project teams and subcontractors.
- Analyze trends and root causes to proactively reduce recurring quality issues.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to QC staff, inspectors, and field personnel as applicable.
- Promote a strong quality culture through training, communication, and field engagement.
Audits & Documentation
- Lead internal quality audits and support external client or regulatory audits as required.
- Review and approve quality-related documentation including submittals, inspection reports, test results, and closeout packages.
- Ensure accurate and timely quality records using company systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support leadership in setting quality performance metrics and reporting.
- Perform other quality-related leadership duties consistent with the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection
- Prior experience in a managerial or lead QA/QC role strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing QA/QC programs.
- Proficient in QMS software
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality documentation systems.
Preferred Certifications
- ASQ or CQM Certification
- Additional QA/QC, inspection, or quality management credentials relevant to the construction industry
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and active construction jobsite environments.
- Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, and access mechanical spaces as required.
- Must be able to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
