Purpose and Key Objectives:
The Quality Assurance Manager / NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the company maintains high standards of quality, compliance, and technical assurance across all electrical and mechanical installations.
The primary function of the role is to act as the company’s NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor, ensuring that all electrical installation work carried out by the company complies with the requirements of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), NICEIC Scheme Rules, and all relevant statutory regulations.
In addition to the electrical compliance responsibilities, the role will oversee quality assurance activities across both electrical and mechanical installations. This will include conducting site audits, reviewing documentation, supporting project teams, and ensuring that installations are delivered safely and in accordance with company quality standards.
The role will operate on a hybrid basis, combining office-based compliance management with regular visits to project sites to carry out inspections, audits, and technical oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor Responsibilities
· Act as the company’s designated NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor.
· Ensure all electrical installation work complies with:
o BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
o NICEIC Scheme Rules
o Relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
· Oversee the inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations.
· Review and approve electrical certification including:
o Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC)
o Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates
o Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR).
· Ensure electrical works are carried out by competent persons and are appropriately supervised.
· Conduct periodic inspections of electrical works in progress and completed installations.
· Maintain records of electrical compliance and certification.
· Support the preparation and successful completion of NICEIC assessments and audits.
· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to electrical engineers and electricians.
· Identify training requirements to maintain electrical competency within the workforce.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain the company’s Quality Assurance systems and procedures.
· Ensure installations are delivered in accordance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
· Conduct quality inspections and audits of electrical and mechanical installations.
· Review project quality documentation including:
o Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
o Commissioning documentation
o Operation and Maintenance Manuals
o Quality assurance records.
· Identify non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Monitor installation quality across projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure quality standards are achieved.
Compliance and Project Support
· Liaise with the company’s Principal Duty Holder to support compliance with relevant safety legislation and regulatory obligations.
· Provide technical and compliance support to Project Managers during project planning, delivery, and completion.
· Support project teams in achieving regulatory and quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
· Assist in the review and development of project documentation relating to compliance and quality assurance.
Mechanical Quality Oversight
· Support quality assurance activities for mechanical installations including:
o HVAC systems
o Pipework installations
o Mechanical plant installations.
· Review mechanical installation quality and documentation.
· Develop knowledge of mechanical systems and standards as part of ongoing professional development.
Site Auditing and Inspections
· Conduct regular site audits and compliance inspections across company projects.
· Use the company’s digital auditing system R-Drive to complete, record, and manage site inspections and quality audits.
· Produce inspection reports and track the completion of corrective actions.
· Ensure installations meet both regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
· Support commissioning activities and project handover where required.
Stakeholder Management
· Maintain high customer satisfaction on every project.
· Implement any necessary corrective action, gaining Project Manager advice and authorisation, where appropriate.
M&E Collaboration
· Operate with an M&E approach at all times.
· Work collaboratively in a consistent M&E way to continuously improve the quality and efficiency on each project.
Key Performance Indicators
· Successful NICEIC assessments and compliance audits
· Maintenance of electrical certification compliance
· Reduction in quality defects and installation non-conformances
· Effective implementation of quality assurance processes
· Positive support and engagement with project teams
Person Specification
Qualifications (if applicable)
· Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
· 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
· Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
· Qualifications and experience required to act as an NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor
· Full UK Driving Licence
Experience
Essential:
o Significant experience within the electrical installation industry
o Experience in electrical inspection, testing and certification
o Experience supervising electrical installations
o Experience working with NICEIC or equivalent accreditation schemes
Desirable:
o Experience in quality assurance or quality management
o Experience working with mechanical building services
o Experience preparing organisations for external audits or accreditation assessments
Skills and Competencies

Working Arrangements
· This is a hybrid role, combining office based responsibilities with regular visits to project sites.
· Travel to project locations will be required in order to carry out inspections, audits, and provide technical support.

Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
