Quality Assurance Nurse and Certified ICD 10 Coder with Homecare Experience

Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Nurse/ Coder plays a critical role in ensuring that healthcare services meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position involves reviewing medical records, assessing patient care practices, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Duties

• Review and analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Conduct audits of patient care practices to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide training and support to nursing staff on best practices in patient care and documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and relevant healthcare regulations.
• Document findings and prepare reports on quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) or LPN license required.
• Home health care experience required
• Coding experience in a home health care setting
• Strong knowledge of medical records management and medical documentation practices.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Previous experience in quality assurance or clinical auditing preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Fast paced- ability to self monitor tasks
• Efficient and correct coding for home heath
