MAC Products is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer in Kearny, NJ serving the rail transit electrification and electrical utility industries. We are a small, specialized company — and that means the people we hire have real impact. We are looking for a
Quality Assurance Specialist
who is ready to take ownership of our core quality systems, work shoulder-to-shoulder with our inspection team, and help us scale quality operations to match our growth.
This role reports directly to the Quality Manager and is a clear path to Quality Engineer for the right candidate. It's the right fit if you are a problem-solver with solid QMS knowledge, good with people, and someone who gets things done.
This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday, Kearny NJ).
What You'll Do

Own CAPA and nonconformance management
— open, track, investigate, and close corrective and preventive actions from initiation to verification of effectiveness.
-
Manage customer complaint intake, coordinate root cause investigations, and drive corrective action responses.
-
Support and guide QC inspectors on daily questions, inspection decisions, and documentation — acting as a resource and sounding board for the inspection team.
-
Maintain and improve quality system documentation: procedures, work instructions, forms, and inspection records.
-
Support internal audit activities and help maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
-
Assist the Quality Manager in compiling quality metrics and preparing data for leadership reporting.
-
Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to identify process gaps and implement practical improvements.

Required:
-
3–5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
-
Working knowledge of
ISO 9001:2015
and quality management system fundamentals.
-
Hands-on experience with CAPA processes — not just familiarity, but actual ownership.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable working with inspectors, operators, engineers, and management.
-
Organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple open issues simultaneously.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
-
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred / Big Plus:
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or quality-related discipline.
-
Experience in a supervisory or lead quality role.
-
Familiarity with welding, brazing, or electro-mechanical assembly processes.
-
Exposure to customer complaint management systems or quality software (e.g., Unipoint, ETQ, or similar).
Why MAC Products?
-
Direct impact: small team, real ownership — you won't be filing paperwork for someone else's decisions.
-
Niche industry in rail transit and electrical utility — specialized, stable markets.
-
Clear growth path: this role is designed to develop into a Quality Engineer position.
-
Collaborative culture where leadership listens and good ideas move fast.
