Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist ensures products meet company standards and compliance requirements. This role is responsible for validating materials and specifications, including cotton content, origin, and product measurements, as well as supporting import compliance and customs clearance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Validate and verify cotton composition, country of origin, and fiber content to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations
  • Review and confirm product weights, measurements, and specifications to ensure accuracy against approved standards and technical documentation
  • Partner with product development, sourcing, and vendors to ensure all materials and finished goods meet quality and compliance requirements
  • Support and participate in the customs clearance process, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate
  • Investigate and resolve customs holds and disputes, including issues related to restricted regions, incorrect declarations, or documentation discrepancies
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to negotiate resolutions for delayed or non-compliant shipments
  • Ensure all products meet import/export regulations, including proper labeling, country of origin declarations, and fiber content disclosures
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance documentation, testing results, and shipment approvals
  • Communicate proactively with vendors and internal stakeholders to mitigate risks related to quality or compliance issues


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or product development within the apparel industry
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, particularly cotton validation, fiber content, and fabric specifications
  • Experience with country of origin regulations and import/export compliance
  • Familiarity with U.S. customs processes and documentation requirements
  • Proven ability to resolve shipment issues and navigate customs disputes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and validate technical data (weights, measurements, specs)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with overseas vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with customs brokers or freight forwarders
  • Knowledge of restricted sourcing regions and trade compliance regulations
  • Background in apparel production or textile testing
