Quality Assurance Supervisor

Overview:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will have effective team leadership with the overall quality activities of the repair station by leading the QA department in detection, dispositions, and problem solving to minimize the number and impact of serious quality problems in compliance with the FAA Repair Station regulations.

Position Duties:

* QA Supervisor oversees processes that ensure our tires meet all standards/specs; holds QC, Production, and Warehousing accountable to meet internal and external quality standards, as well as monitor and manage daily QC Activities

* Ensures tests, inspections, and samplings are performed correctly

* Leads in training, investigates quality issues (root cause analysis, 5W1H), corrective actions

* Plan, organize, and lead the implementation and use of quality systems and procedures in plant to assure consistent quality monitoring

* Interact with Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineering, Plant Engineer, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Production; assist with all production activities, troubleshooting, drives customer satisfaction in the facility

* Direct and oversee the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of all testing and analysis of finished tires, in process materials, and raw materials

* Ensure product compliance to all customers, Bridgestone Japan, governments and regulations to include all responsibilities as required by the Federal Aviation Administration Repair Station. This includes all required reporting

* Assist in the plant in all areas of Quality Assurance; coordinate and implement best practices

* Development of department targets and objectives

* Assist in the corrective action system for quality troubles; issue statistical reports

* Able to operate forklift and gripper attachment

* Able to identify deviations from approved procedures as indicated in Bridgestone Process Manuals

* Coordinate with production scheduling and retread procurement teams to prioritize lab testing

* Must be familiar with entire retreading process

* Must be familiar with entire logistics and warehouse process

* Perform Quality Audits related to the tire retreading process

* All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Associates degree from a two year (2) college or technical school, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing or Quality Assurance.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to add, subtract multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or graphical forms.
• Proficient computer use and able to navigate Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint).

Other Requirements:

• FAA Mechanic Certificate - Preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
