The Quality Assurance Technician has attained a HACCP Certification and has experience with SQF Food Manufacturing Systems to maintain day to day compliance of quality and manufacturing practices. The QA Technician is responsible for maintaining control procedures and practices within the Quality department and SQF Systems. They assists the Quality Assurance Department with day to day operations.
Assists upper management in developing and implementing standards and processes
Develops and enhances data spreadsheets
Maintains the document control program and updates forms and work instructions as needed.
Understands product micro requirements. Verifies micro results & clears product micros.
Prepares Certificate of Analysis and sends to customers and communicates micro clearance to customers using requested alternative methods.
Conducts internal audits and inspections
Maintains and enhances supplier approval program, requests up to date documents from current and new suppliers as needed
Assists in mock recalls and traceability exercises
Submits incoming document requests in a timely manner
Completes customer questionnaires
Receives sample requests & sends out samples in a timely manner
Collects customer samples
Pulls samples from cold storage to send to customers
Assists in customer complaint investigations by pulling product retains and performing sensory analysis and gathering applicable data.
Pulls retains for product analysis
Assists the quality department in research and data collection
Enhances and maintains foreign material spreadsheets
Reviews product specifications
Maintains hold program, communicates current holds & disposition of holds effectively &
Assists with calibration, validation, and testing activities including but not limited to scales, checkweighers, metal detectors, x-rays, magnets, refractometers, infrared temperature recorders, facility temperature recorders, compressed air, and water.
Collects samples and sends to 3rd party lab for residue testing & inputs results to MRL spreadsheet
Assists in audit preparation
Assists in shelf life studies
Preforms facilities food defense challenge
Conducts investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions with help from the QC team & other departments
Stores, organizes, and files QA/QC records for retention
Working conditions are normal for an office setting. Occasionally involves working in close proximity to processing machinery, forklifts, and trucks. Incumbent is frequently in laboratories dealing with lab equipment and some hazardous chemicals.
