Job Description: As a QA technician you would be responsible for inspection tasks including maintain equipment, calibration, 1st article, initial sample inspection reports (ISIR), production part approval processes (PPAP), and process support as needed to ensure compliance to internal standards and customer requirements. Additional processes supported including receiving inspection, subcontract incoming inspection, and final QA prior to shipment. As required, this role will assist or drive the creation and submission of PPAPs or other quality process documents that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize inspection tools not limited to: caliper, micrometer, height gage, protractor, Faro / Romer arm, hardness tester, flat scanner
- Read and follow instructions on job traveler
- Read, understand and demonstrate high proficiency reading blueprints, GD&T, AWS and ISO weld symbols
- Follow and document quality plan for inspection of parts
- Perform roaming quality checks
- Recognize defects in parts, not limited to rust, damage, missing features, not matching print.
- Identify material type in conformance with print / job traveler specification
- Utilize MRP system to access prints, job routing information, receipt and inventory information
- Label and handle parts to meet the needs of the new production introduction process.
- Maintain work areas and tooling to ensure a clean and safe environment this includes general cleaning and housekeeping.
- Process RMA’s.
- As required, assist or drive the creation and submission of PPAPs or other quality process documents that meet or exceed customer requirements.
