Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and quality programs within our food production facility. This position is responsible for monitoring production processes, verifying food safety procedures, conducting inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), organized, and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor production areas to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine inspections of products, equipment, and sanitation practices.
- Complete and maintain QA documentation accurately and timely.
- Verify CCPs, HACCP records, GMPs, SSOPs, and other food safety programs.
- Collect samples for testing and document results.
- Monitor temperatures, weights, labels, metal detection, and product specifications.
- Report food safety or quality concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with corrective actions and follow-up investigations.
- Ensure employees are following company policies and food safety procedures.
- Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain organized records using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Communicate effectively with employees and management in both English and Spanish.
- Participate in food safety and quality training programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the QA department.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food safety preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety practices preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or refrigerated environments.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in meat processing or food manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with USDA, FDA, or BRCGS standards.
- Experience conducting inspections and maintaining compliance records.
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
