Job Title: Quality Control / Order Checker

Reports To: Warehouse Manager / Floor Supervisor / Quality Control Lead

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

About the Role

As a Quality Control Order Checker, you are the final line of defense between our warehouse and our customers. In a mid-market distribution environment moving large volumes of merchandise, accuracy is our top priority.

You will be responsible for auditing pallets built by our picking team, ensuring that every manufacturer case is correct, the quantities are exact, and the pallet is built for safe transit. This is a high-speed role that requires a "zero-defect" mindset and the ability to stay focused in a bustling warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Verification: Physically audit outgoing orders to ensure 100% accuracy against pick tickets or digital handheld scanners.
• Case Integrity: Inspect full manufacturer cases for damage, correct labeling, and proper expiration dates (if applicable).
• Pallet Integrity: Evaluate the build quality of pallets, ensuring heavy items are on the bottom and the load is stable, wrapped securely, and ready for shipment.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Identify picking errors (mis-picks, overages, or shortages) and communicate immediately with the picking team to correct the order before it hits the dock.
• Documentation: Maintain daily logs of audit findings and error rates to help the management team identify training opportunities.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards, including the proper use of warehouse equipment (e.g., electric pallet jacks).

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a high-volume distribution or warehouse environment.
• Detail-Oriented: An exceptional eye for detail; you are the type of person who notices a single digit off on a SKU from across the aisle.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Fast-Paced Performance: Proven ability to meet "orders per hour" quotas without sacrificing accuracy.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to provide constructive feedback to warehouse pickers.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF Scanning technology.

Work Environment & Benefits

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
