Quality Control Chemist

Job Description

The Quality Control Chemist at Capacity Chemical LLC will play a key role in ensuring the chemical integrity, consistency, and safety of agricultural chemical products through all stages of blending, dilution, and packaging. The Chemist will perform analytical testing, monitor quality control protocols, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer specifications. This

role directly supports production, safety, and regulatory teams and helps maintain product quality and operational efficiency.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process blends, and finished agricultural chemical products
  • Verify and validate the concentration, purity, pH, specific gravity, and other critical parameters of chemical blends, dilutions, and packaged goods
  • Perform Quality Control checks on all production batches
  • Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instrumentation
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve any product quality issues during formulation, dilution, or packaging processes
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with federal and state safety and environmental regulations
  • Assist in the development and revision of quality procedures, test methods, and safety protocols to reflect evolving regulatory standards and company requirements
  • Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and training of junior lab staff or new hires as directed.

Required Knowledge and Skills

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field. Through academic coursework and laboratory training, the candidate must possess the following

knowledge and skills:

  • Proficiency in general, organic, analytical, and physical chemistry, with laboratory techniques such as titration, spectroscopy, chromatography, and pH measurement.
  • Ability to conduct chemical testing of raw materials and finished products, validate results, and troubleshoot standard laboratory instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, hazardous chemical handling, and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Competence in documenting test results, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
  • Ability to collaborate in laboratory and team-based environments and communicate findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with quality control principles, regulatory standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
