The QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the project’s quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements. This role plays a key part in inspecting, documenting, and verifying construction activities to deliver defect-free works.


Responsibilities:

Quality Control & Inspections

  • Conduct inspections for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works in accordance with approved ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation such as ITPs, QCPs (Quality Control Procedures), method statements, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and daily inspection reports.
  • Maintain records of material certificates, calibration logs, and test results for audit readiness.

Compliance & Standards

  • Verify that construction materials and workmanship meet contract requirements, ASTM, ASME, ISO, and local building codes.
  • Ensure compliance with client quality management system (QMS) and project quality plan.

Coordination

  • Liaise with third-party inspectors, consultants, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
  • Support QA/QC Manager in audits, surveillance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Promote continuous improvement practices on site through lessons learned and feedback loops.


Qualification:

Education & Related Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical) or a related technical discipline.

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in quality control for large-scale construction projects, or at least 1+ years in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Strong understanding of quality documentation (ITPs, checklists, NCRs, RFI responses).

Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency with QA tracking tools and construction management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Procore)

Skills:

Must Have:

  • Familiarity with owner-side quality expectations (e.g., Intel, TSMC, Samsung, Micron, etc.).

Nice to Have:

  • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), CWI, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
