Quality Control Inspector

Job Overview:

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team and ensure that our products meet the highest standards. As an on-the-floor inspector, you will be responsible for the meticulous examination of materials and products throughout the production process. With demonstrated skills, the right individual may be considered for supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming components and products to verify compliance with plans, drawings, and applicable specifications.
  • Conduct first piece inspections, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges.
  • Perform assembly and testing audits to ensure production standards are met.
  • Generate Corrective Action Request reports for suppliers and internal processes.
  • Ensure all inspection logs, reports, and documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate findings from inspections and audits to the Quality Manager, production team, and suppliers.
  • Assist in the design and use of special gauges as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace, adhering to safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special quality improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with CMM
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and inspection manuals.
  • Proficient in using various measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • ERP system experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to resolve issues proactively.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and ASME experience are helpful but not required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in quality systems (inspections, audits, use of measurement tools).
  • Familiarity with vacuum and pressure testing processes.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Ability to interface effectively and positively with all members of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
