A Quality Control (QC) Inspector in a metal factory ensures raw materials, welded parts, and finished products meet precise engineering tolerances and safety standards. perform visual checks, operate measuring tools, and document non-conformities to prevent defective items from reaching the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Verification: Inspect incoming raw metal sheets, bars, and pipes for correct grade, thickness, and mill test certificates before fabrication.
- In-Process Inspections: Monitor fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, and welding, to verify compliance with blueprints and approved specifications.
- Dimensional Checks: Utilize precision measuring tools like micrometers.
- Defect Documentation: Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective parts, track root causes, and verify successful re-work.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection records and sign off on final products before they are cleared for dispatch.
Essential Requirements
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedure specifications.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying workshop conditions (noise, dust), and lift moderate weights.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent visual acuity (often requiring a Jaeger eye exam) and strict adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
- Certificate: Any bachelor cert. (mechanical engineer will be preffered)
