Quality Control Inspector (QC Inspector) - Sheet Metal Fabrication

Approved Sheet Metal is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for verifying that all fabricated parts and assemblies meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity by identifying defects, validating dimensions, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the shop floor. This position works closely with production and engineering teams to maintain consistency, accuracy, and overall manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
• Inspect finished sheet metal parts and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
• Use precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) as needed
• Identify non-conforming products and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to optimize production processes and improve quality outcomes
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Familiarity with CMM equipment and inspection processes
• Solid math skills for measurements and calculations
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
