Quality Control Lab Technician

Come Join our Team! Now hiring in the Tulsa, OK area for a QC Lab Technician.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for all areas of daily activities of AXEL’s Quality Control lab. Assure quality products are produced through testing and sample preparation, maintenance and calibration of instruments, record keeping, control of processes and raw materials as per documented procedures. Develops lab data to support customer quality assurance through the use of spreadsheets and other computer programs. Maintains laboratory chemicals, supplies, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze samples and provide accurate results. Document and communicate issues regarding quality, instrumentation, production, or supplies.
  • Records lab data in appropriate format in spreadsheets and files, utilizing data history to correct production batches to meet performance specifications.
  • Performs follow-up quality assurance testing on production products to ensure shelf life quality is maintained.
  • Maintains lab supplies, raw materials, solvents, and cleanliness of the lab area.
  • Assist with maintenance of batch samples and retention schedule.
  • Ensure lab analytical instrumentation is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated.
  • Responsible for the filing and retention of various lab documents, including Certificates of Analysis and batch sheets.
  • Performs competitive product analyses as directed, documenting results in laboratory notebooks and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Must perform job functions in adherence with AXEL’s Safety Management System.
  • Must perform job functions in accordance with AXEL’s quality systems, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 (if applicable) Quality Management Systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must be self-motivated
  • Possess strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, mechanics and managers
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills are required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a laboratory setting; college laboratory experience may be considered.
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience required; Chemistry background preferred
  • Prior experience working with Oils/Greases highly desirable

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires formal training and past experience outlined above, bringing a knowledge base to the company. Additionally, continued training for this position occurs through:

  • Day to day instruction from supervisor
  • General Safety training annually
  • Various Quality and Hazardous Material Handling Training as required
  • Online learning modules or webinars
  • Mentorship or shadowing with senior lab personnel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

Lab and Plant environment

Must have the ability to lift/stabilize 30 lbs. for brief periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $19.00 per hour
