Quality Control & Monitoring Engineer -
Hydro Power Project (300 MW) | Bhutan
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control & Monitoring Engineer with strong Project Management Consultancy (PMC) background for a large-scale hydro power plant project in Bhutan.
About the Role
The Quality Control & Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction, installation, and commissioning activities meet approved quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements for a high-capacity hydro power project.
Responsibilities

Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems for hydro power projects

Review and approve method statements, inspection & test plans (ITPs), quality manuals, and procedures

Monitor construction activities including civil, hydro-mechanical, electro-mechanical, and E&M works
-
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and quality reviews

Ensure compliance with contract documents, technical specifications, and international standards

Identify non-conformities and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions

Coordinate with contractors, designers, and client representatives

Prepare and submit quality reports, progress monitoring reports, and compliance documentation

Support project management team in risk mitigation related to quality and performance

Assist during testing, commissioning, and handover phases
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or relevant discipline)

Minimum 15 years of total professional experience in hydro power projects

Mandatory experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Engineer-in-Charge roles

Proven experience on hydro power plant projects of minimum 300 MW capacity

Strong knowledge of hydro power construction practices, QA/QC systems, and international standards

Experience working in mountainous or remote project locations preferred

Excellent coordination, documentation, and reporting skills
