Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance Officer to ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality compliance across meat and frozen food operations. The role focuses on maintaining cold chain integrity, regulatory compliance, and quality standards from receiving to retail.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality and food safety standards across meat processing, frozen storage, and retail outlets
  • Conduct inspections for raw meat, frozen products, and finished goods
  • Ensure cold chain compliance (chillers, freezers, transport, and display units)
  • Verify temperature logs, hygiene practices, sanitation schedules, and pest control records
  • Implement and monitor HACCP plans and prerequisite programs (GMP, GHP, SSOP)
  • Identify non-conformities and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain traceability, batch records, expiry control, and recall readiness
  • Coordinate with operations during municipality and authority inspections
  • Conduct food safety and hygiene training for staff
  • Handle quality-related customer complaints and investigations

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Meat Technology, Microbiology, or Food Technology
  • Diploma in Food Safety / Quality Management is an advantage

Industry-Relevant Certifications (Required / Preferred)

  • HACCP Certification – Mandatory
  • Food Safety Level 3 or Level 4 – Preferred
  • ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 (Awareness or Internal Auditor) – Added advantage
  • GMP / GHP Certification – Added advantage

Experience Requirements

  • 8–12 years of QC/QA experience in meat, poultry, frozen food, slaughterhouse, cold storage, or food retail
  • Hands-on experience with cold chain, hygiene audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Familiarity with Oman Municipality / food safety authority requirements is a strong advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of meat and frozen food safety risks
  • Good documentation and audit handling skills
  • Practical, field-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RO400.000 - RO600.000 per month
