Job Summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and versatile individual to join our team as a Laboratory Technician Assistant with additional responsibilities in Quality Control and Regulatory Coordination.
The ideal candidate will support laboratory operations by assisting with various tasks related to data collection, sample preparation, and maintaining laboratory equipment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of our laboratory Implementation processes while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Position Overview
The Quality Control & Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining product quality, managing laboratory testing, overseeing chemical sampling activities, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to chemical distribution.
This position works closely with warehouse operations, sales, vendors, and management to ensure accurate documentation, safe handling, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Warehouse Quality Control
- Pull and sample chemicals from bulk containers (drums, totes, tanks) following safety and quality protocols.
- Verify, relabel, and ensure traceability of inbound and outbound chemical samples.
- Review and sanitize Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and manufacturer documentation.
- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing on raw materials and distributed products.
- Maintain calibration, troubleshooting, and proper operation of laboratory equipment.
- Accurately document test results in compliance with SOPs and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Conduct environmental filing, monitoring and support investigations related to non-conforming materials.
- Auditing order processing procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and operational accuracy.
- Responsible for developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); establishing and validating laboratory testing methods; maintaining laboratory operations including required reagents, equipment and documentation.
- Conduct research and development initiatives.
- Securely package and ship chemical samples in accordance with DOT and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, sample containers, and shipping materials.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to hazardous material handling procedures.
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, including FDA, ISO, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, DOT, and local health and fire codes.
- Manage and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) and product labeling information.
- Prepare documentation for regulatory filings, technical data sheets, and customer compliance requests.
- Monitor regulatory updates affecting chemical storage, handling, distribution, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Oversee environmental reporting obligations, including waste tracking, hazardous materials reporting, air and water discharge documentation, and coordination with local, state, and federal environmental agencies as required.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and maintain required environmental records and logs.
- Support internal audits and serve as point of contact during third-party inspections.
- Maintain organized document control systems within the company database.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in quality control, laboratory analysis, or regulatory compliance within chemical manufacturing or distribution.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and warehouse safety practices.
- Familiarity with GLP, GMP, OSHA, and DOT compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including exposure to chemicals and use of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform sampling activities as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
