Quality Control & Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented QC & Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team. This vital role combines rigorous quality assurance responsibilities with efficient shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that fabricated metal parts and materials meet company and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will ensure components meet provided drawings, job specifications, and quality standards. This role will also assist the Production Manager with the shipping and receiving department.

Quality Control Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated metal parts for accuracy, weld quality, and workmanship
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure final products match job requirements
• Collaborate with the Production Manager and production team to resolve quality issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Assist with other departments as needed or directed

Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and inspect incoming shipments against BOLs and packing slips
• Document and report damaged items or shortages
• Ensure materials are moved to the correct storage locations and communicate inventory receipts with Office Manager
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate shipping containers and protective materials; affix shipping labels, stamps, or any other required identifying information
• Operate tools and equipment used for securing shipments
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and request replacements as needed

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required
• Previous warehouse experience in fabrication or quality inspection preferred
• Experience in metal fabrication or welding environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use ERP software
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as well as stand, walk, bend, and reach during shift

Compensation

• Pay starting at $22-25 per hour with possibility of pay increase after 90 day probationary period
• PTO and paid holidays after 90 days

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
