Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for performing in-process and finished product inspections, as well as raw material testing in a fast-paced cosmetics manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all materials and products meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and GMP guidelines prior to release.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform raw material analysis following approved specifications and procedures.
- Conduct in-process inspections on production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards and GMP.
- Execute finished product inspections, including physical, organoleptic, and documentation review prior to batch release.
- Operate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, analytical balances, pipettes, and other testing equipment.
- Prepare and perform dilutions and sampling of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and DI Water.
- Perform AQL inspections for packaging components and finished goods.
- Evaluate and approve batches using organoleptic techniques (appearance, color, odor, texture).
- Accurately record results, maintain laboratory logs, and ensure proper documentation according to GMP standards.
- Use computer systems and software (e.g., ERP/LIMS/Excel) to record, analyze, and manage data efficiently.
- Collaborate with Production, QA, and other departments to address quality issues in real time.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, adhering to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or associate degree in Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of GMP, AQL standards, and basic laboratory safety.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer software (Excel, Word, LIMS or ERP systems).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
