Description:
Purpose:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing precast concrete products to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry standards. This role conducts pre-pour, in-process, and post-pour inspections, performs concrete testing, documents results, and supports continuous improvement efforts within the production process.
Essential Functions:

Perform all job duties in accordance with company safety, environmental, and operational policies without exception.

Conduct inspections on product forms, pre-pour setups, and post-pour product acceptance in accordance with established guidelines.

Complete and file all pre- and post-pour inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Perform daily concrete testing, including slump, spread, VSI, air content, and cylinder preparation.

Record and communicate all concrete testing results to management.

Review product drawings and provide recommendations prior to form production as needed.

Identify and recommend product repairs; make sound decisions on minor quality issues.

Document all daily product corrections and report results to the QC Manager; escalate critical issues immediately.

Assist with layout, setup, and inspection of specialty products and grate seats.

Maintain organized production packets with QC markings and documentation.

Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback and observations from the production floor.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or a related industry preferred.

Prior Quality Control experience in precast concrete production or similar manufacturing environment preferred.

ACI and NPCA certifications required or ability to obtain within designated timeframe.

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Demands:

Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.

Ability to climb and descend stairs.
-
Ability to perform direct keyboard entry operations for regular periods of time.
