Job Description:
Summary:
The registered or registry eligible sonographer competently performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations on all patient types, i.e. inpatient, outpatient and emergency. The incumbent will possess excellent technical skills and demonstrate appropriate personality and desire toward service excellence. The incumbent will provide valuable input into performance improvement. The incumbent will work directly with the radiologist and/or attending physician with regard to ultrasound diagnosis.

Correlates and integrates ultrasound service and care for all patient ages from neonates to geriatrics using appropriate methods and assessment of orders, patient instruction, and sharing specialized knowledge with other members of the health care team. As a health professional, the incumbent will work to ensure appropriate shift coverage. The sonographer will rotate call responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day to day operations of the Ultrasound Department, oversees the development and implementation of daily QA’s , operations and maintenance of all laboratory equipment, and ensures the compliance of the technical staff to the standard outlined by ICAVL and the ARDMS.

The incumbent will utilize the full scope of equipment this includes intra-operative ultrasound procedures. Will adhere to a team approach in problem solving and team play. The incumbent will demonstrate sound judgment in his/her responsibilities.

Requirements:
The registered sonographer will have either graduated from a AMA/CAHEA/JRCERT approved academic program, having passed ultrasound physics plus Ob/Gyn, Abdomen registries, vascular physics and vascular technology exams.

Two years experience RDMS with Ob/Gyn, abdomen, and doppler preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
