Quality Engineer

Quality Systems Engineer - (6-9 month contract)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Systems Engineer to lead the implementation of a robust Quality Management System (QMS) for our assembly and distribution center. This role is critical in aligning our quality systems with ISO 9001 and related standards , achieving certification readiness, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain a comprehensive QMS in alignment with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
• Lead the ISO certification process —including gap assessments, documentation, training, and audit preparation.
• Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation , including policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate QMS principles into day-to-day operations and processes.
• Drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities to resolution and prevent recurrence.
• Implement and manage a Supplier Quality Management System , ensuring consistent quality across the supply chain.
• Facilitate QMS training for employees to promote awareness and compliance.
• Continuously monitor system effectiveness and lead process improvement initiatives .
• Stay current with changes in ISO standards and regulatory requirements and ensure continued compliance.
• Support implementation of industry best practices and quality tools.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards .
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Quality Management , or related field
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments , with a focus on quality systems
• Proven track record of implementing QMS from the ground up

Technical Skills & Certifications:

• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant ISO standards
• Experience with internal audits , documentation control, and CAPA processes
• Proficient in quality management tools and software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and levels of the organization

Preferred certifications:

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
