General Summary:
The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring and enhancing the quality standards of our manufacturing processes, particularly focusing on supplier quality management and internal continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires proactive involvement in supplier audits, quality issue resolution, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits, technical meetings, and assessments to monitor and improve supplier performance
- Lead root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions for supplier and internal quality issues
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing defects, and optimizing manufacturing processes
- Represent the company during customer on-site visits, at the customer’s facility or at supplier’s sites
- Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards in supply chain and internally
- Drive the implementation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Maintain records including the approved supplier list, supplier surveys, and supplier evaluations
- Monitor and escalate non-conformance issues and drive root cause investigations
- Identify and address training needs within the supply chain and across the organization
- Foster a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with company and industry policies
- Support resolution of customer complaints related to quality issues
- Utilize Six Sigma methodologies or other quality improvement tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization
- Prepare comprehensive reports and metrics on supplier performance, quality issues, and improvement initiatives
- Perform troubleshooting and testing of aluminum products if required
- Follow all company policies & procedures
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
Working Environment:
- Primarily office-based within a manufacturing environment.
- Normal weekday schedule, 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Some weekends may be required. Flexibility on this schedule is possible
- Personal Protective Equipment may be required: hearing protection, steel toe boots/shoes, eye protection
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Demonstrated experience in supplier quality management, including audits and corrective actions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools like Zoom or Microsoft Teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of ASTM standards and ISO 9001 procedures preferred.
- Experience in metallurgical processes, electroplating, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier audits and customer visits as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
