Quality Assurance Engineer
Industrial Manufacturing | Full-Time
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing industrial manufacturing operation. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, process consistency, and compliance with both customer and internal quality standards across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in manufacturing quality systems, metrology, inspection planning, and root cause analysis, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams. This individual will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting customer satisfaction, and strengthening overall manufacturing performance.
This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, process optimization, and building sustainable quality systems within a heavy industrial or precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering & Inspection

Review, approve, and maintain engineering drawings, DCNs, QCIPs, inspection plans, and related quality documentation

Develop and implement inspection procedures for:

Incoming material inspection

In-process inspection
-
Final product inspection
-
Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools and metrology equipment
-
Verify product conformance to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards
-
Support inspection methodology improvements to enhance accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency
-
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve product quality and reduce defects
Corrective Actions & Root Cause Analysis

Lead and facilitate internal and customer-related corrective action activities utilizing the 8D methodology
-
Investigate customer complaints, production nonconformances, and returned materials

Conduct structured root cause analysis using:

Fishbone / Ishikawa Diagrams

5-Why Analysis

Fault Tree Analysis
-
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
-
Track corrective action effectiveness and ensure timely resolution
Quality Systems & Compliance

Support and maintain compliance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
-
Participate in internal audits, external audits, and audit readiness activities
-
Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities and nonconforming material disposition
-
Maintain calibration systems and records in accordance with ANSI and quality standards
-
Develop and update SOPs, Work Instructions, and quality documentation
-
Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and internal procedures
Metrology & Testing Equipment
-
Utilize and support inspection and testing equipment including:
-
Calipers
-
Micrometers
-
Height gauges
-
Angle blocks
-
CMM equipment
-
Helium leak testing equipment
-
Support troubleshooting and optimization of measurement systems
-
Recommend and assist with implementation of new quality equipment and technologies
-
Partner with Engineering on fixture design, testing methods, and validation processes
Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Support

Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma initiatives
-
Support Kaizen events, process improvement projects, and Value Stream Mapping activities
-
Drive improvements in workflow efficiency, process capability, training effectiveness, and product quality
-
Partner with Production and Engineering to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime
-
Support welding test procedures and manufacturing qualification activities as needed
-
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the facility
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical discipline
-
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering role within industrial manufacturing
-
Experience working within an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of:

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

Metrology and precision measurement

Blueprint and print reading
-
MSA / Gage R&R
-
Root cause analysis methodologies
-
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Proficiency with manufacturing documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating or programming CMM equipment

Knowledge of PPAP documentation and deliverables including:

FMEA
-
Control Plans
-
SPC
-
Lean Six Sigma certification or practical experience

Welding inspection or weld testing experience

Experience within heavy industrial manufacturing, steel processing, fabrication, machining, or precision manufacturing environments
