Quality Engineer - 3 month Contract

**Must be eligible to work in the US without any working restrictions

**Must be local to San Jose, CA - no relocation offered

Overview
This role is highly visible and customer-facing. The engineer will regularly communicate directly with customers regarding quality documentation, Gauge R&R analysis, customer complaints, and ongoing manufacturing quality initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on quality engineer who requires minimal direction, takes ownership of projects, proactively identifies work, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of Quality Engineering experience
• Medical device manufacturing background
• Strong GD&T knowledge
• Experience with PFMEAs, Control Plans, PPAPs, and Gauge R&R
• Comfortable analyzing quality data and presenting recommendations
• Manufacturing floor troubleshooting experience
• Customer-facing communication skills
• Experience supporting NPI and sustaining manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Support quality engineering activities for manufacturing programs.
• Review and respond to customer complaints while meeting internal response KPIs.
• Investigate nonconformance reports and assist with disposition activities.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation including PFMEAs, Control Plans, and PPAP deliverables.
• Analyze Gauge R&R data and recommend process improvements.
• Perform process capability evaluations.
• Support production quality issues directly on the manufacturing floor.
• Work closely with Program Managers and Manufacturing Engineers on new product introduction activities.
• Participate in customer meetings and effectively communicate technical quality issues.
• Assist with quality documentation required for customer milestone deliverables.
• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
