Job Title: Quality Engineer II

Summary
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, a Quality Engineer II is responsible for three to four of the below functions. The Quality Engineer II works collaboratively with teams to develop and improve processes for the WMI Integrated Management System.
Major Job Duties
As a key member of Weber Metals your duties include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy to the success of Weber Metals
- Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Quality Policy to the success of Weber Metals
- Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Environmental Policy
- Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Integrated Management System
- Work in a team environment to meet target dates
Common Requirements
- Obtains a clear understanding of all internal and external requirements relating to applicable QE functions.
- Leads/participates in internal audits, Kaizen events, Lean improvements, Six Sigma, and 6S projects when required.
- Leads/assists with customer/3rd party surveys and audits as required.
- Carries out other activities as deemed necessary by Quality Management
Quality Systems Function
- Develops, documents, and improves policies, procedures, and work instructions to support the enhancement of the WMI Integrated Management System (with a focus on AS9100D and customer quality requirements)
- Leads cause and corrective action investigation and resolution in response to internal and external audits
- Prepares and capable of presenting all information related to AS9100D required Management Review
- Maintains and improves IMS and QMS documentation electronically for the Quality Assurance department
- Performs training of all impacted individuals for IMS/QMS Quality-owned processes, including MRB
Quality Planning Function
- Performs Measurement System Analysis of all required equipment at the required frequency
- Develops and supports the implementation and maintenance of Quality System Planning tools to improve manufacturing processes, prevent nonconforming products, and reduce waste.
- Reviews, communicates, and implements requirements from customer specifications which affect Quality processes
Supplier Quality Function
- Support supplier selection via a well-defined qualification process. Working with various WMI departments (Purchasing, Materials & Processes, Manufacturing, Engineering, etc.) to assess supplier capabilities and quality system to ensure a continuous flow of high quality products and services.
- Monitor and publish to the rest of the organization supplier quality performance
- Develop evaluation, and surveillance plans to qualify, assess and maintain supplier quality performance.
- Develop procedures and implement programs to ensure the proper supplier selection criteria and ongoing development and maintenance of quality assurance within the supply base.
- Assist suppliers to effectively complete Supplier Corrective Actions/Requests.
- Lead root cause and corrective action initiatives and continuous improvement activities with suppliers
- Provide technical support to Supply Chain.
- Lead/assist in supplier audits
Process Improvement Function
- Performs statistical analysis of available data to identify trends, interactions, and key process control parameters (including those defined by the customer).
- Assists in the resolution of nonconforming product issues, and interfaces with other departments, customers, and suppliers to eliminate recurrence.
- Analyzes scrap, rework, and customer complaint data to identify trends and works collaboratively to develop and implement improvement methods to reduce occurrences.
- Performs cause and corrective action investigation and resolution in response to internal and external audits, customer complaints, or internal nonconformance’s.
- Conducts development programs to improve facility/process/system quality performance
- Develops improvements in methods and processes to reduce rework, scrap, and cost in support of Top Level Goals
Product Quality (MRB) Function
- Leads review, disposition, and associated actions of customer complaints
- Maintains access to all required customer portals for purposes Quality processes, etc.
- Leads root cause and corrective action investigation for all customer complaints
- Responsible for all containment activities related to an associated customer complaint or escape
Additional Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with all levels within Weber Metals
- Ability to multitask and provide results in a timely manner as well as adjust plans under changing circumstances.
- Works independently and meets commitments and established deadlines for assigned responsibilities, work schedule, appointments, and meetings.
- Makes appropriate decisions based on analysis, sound judgment, and available information.
- Promotes a team atmosphere and builds harmonious working relationships both within and outside the department.
- Strong computer skills, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Strong organizational skills.
- Determination to develop and implement solutions to resolve problems.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering from accredited university, other degrees may be considered.
- 3 to 5 years Quality Engineering experience or equivalent

Pay: $86,700.00 - $107,100.00 per year
