Quality Engineer – Mechanical Inspection (S)

Technical/Functional Skill Set:

  • Analyze 2D & 3D Drawings, Specifications & Tolerances
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret specifications mentioned in drawing.
  • Inspection of Mechanical Parts using variable & attribute gauges.
  • Aware of 7QC Tools.
  • Problem solving tools (8D, Why-why & Fishbone analysis)
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD & T) Knowledge will be an advantage
  • Inspection & Process Compliance.
  • Good Excel & Documentation, Macro will be an added advantage.
  • Assist in maintaining and calibrating quality control equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a production/quality environment.
  • Experience in Electronic System Assembly Industries.
  • Experience in QC and IQC related activities in Defence / Aerospace Electronics production activities.
  • Experience in Aerospace Industries viz. interactions with BEL, CEMILAC and DGAQA for Airborne Certification etc will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in quality for Special process (Chromatizing MIL-DTL-5541F, Hard black anodized (MIL-A-8625F), Powder Coating) inspection & validation.

Job Description:

  • Developing and implementing quality control systems.
  • To perform the In-process and Final Quality assurance of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • To contribute in strengthening the Quality Management System
  • Regular update meetings with Groups to ensure effective process implementation and suggest any changes required.
  • Work with the production team to resolve quality-related problems.
  • Sustenance of ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100 D certification for Organization and contribute towards continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Working with customers and quality agencies for Physical inspection, testing and final delivery
  • Regular vendor visit for part inspection & corrective action verification.
  • Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring instruments, VMM added advantage
  • To manage the quality activity effectively so that a defect free product reaches the customer.
  • Identify and document any defects or non-conformances, and report them to the supervisor or relevant personnel.
  • To provide quality-related input during design reviews.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications through meticulous examination and precise measurement tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control.
  • Accountable for ensuring the smooth functioning of the Quality function of the organization and availability of QMS and Tools on the intranet.
  • Perform visual inspection and dimensional checks of mechanical components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Preparing inspection reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support in-process inspection and final inspection activities.
  • Assist in Internal Quality audit, External certification audits and various customer audits
  • Coordinate with production, design, and QA/QC teams to ensure product quality.
  • Support root cause analysis for quality issues and contribute to corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
