Job Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring Accelevation’s supply base consistently meets quality, delivery, and compliance expectations. This role will lead supplier assessments, manage nonconformances, drive corrective actions, and partner closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations. Regular travel to supplier facilities is a core part of the position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and perform periodic performance reviews
  • Support new supplier onboarding and qualification activities
  • Manage supplier nonconformances, including RCCA, containment, and verification
  • Partner with suppliers to reduce variation, improve process capability, and ensure adherence to Accelevation specifications and drawings
  • Lead issue-driven investigations at supplier sites, including urgent travel when required
  • Support review and disposition of supplier-related defects
  • Monitor key supplier KPIs and implement improvement plans where needed
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal QMS requirements
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or similar role
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and performance evaluations
  • Strong knowledge of APQP tools including PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T
  • Experience managing supplier nonconformances and corrective actions
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to supplier facilities (routine and short-notice travel)
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems
Preferred skills and qualifications:
  • 3+ years of direct experience conducting Supplier Quality Audits
  • Experience in fabrication, welding, electrical, or powder coating environments
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CSSGB, etc.)

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, scissors and stretch wrapper. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
