Position Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In this dual-focused role (approximately 50% supplier quality / 50% traditional quality engineering), you’ll help shape resilient supply partnerships and drive improvements that align with our company values.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Engineering (~50%)
- Audit and evaluate suppliers for compliance with ASTM, CPSC, and ADA playground safety standards.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Purchasing departments on qualification and improvement activities for new and underperforming suppliers.
- Partner with suppliers to promote continual improvement across the supply chain
- Analyze supplier processes/product to ensure alignment with safety, quality, durability, and environmental needs.
- Lead corrective action initiatives, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving and continual improvement
- Review technical documentation including PPAPs, certifications, and inspection reports to validate product quality
- Both areas of responsibility may have other assigned duties.
Internal Quality Engineering (~50%)
- Develop and maintain inspection protocols for structural integrity, UV/weather resistance, and other product factors
- Support functions with risk-based validation testing of new designs and prototyping.
- Drive measurable product and process improvement in key business metrics using data from various data sources such as field incidents, customer feedback, internal audits, and performance testing .
- Champion a safety-first mindset across cross-functional teams while driving product and process improvements.
- Facilitate ISO 9001 compliance through internal audits, documentation control, and corrective action
Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence in written and verbal communication when dealing internally and externally to teams and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to define a problem and then collect and/or analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and verify effectiveness of implemented improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, gain consensus, and execute action plans individually or as part of a cross functional team which deliver measurable improvement in customer, supplier, and business quality metrics.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP System (Syteline), Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Also intermediate to advanced knowledge of SolidWorks modelling software.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with 2-5 years related experience and/or training.
- Estimated travel combining both Supplier Quality and Internal Quality roles is 10-25%.

Working Conditions:
Position will require safe use of hand tools related to data collection for improvement project work. May be exposed to loud working conditions, work at heights on a platform.
Normal office environment setting or may be exposed to noise if working in or around a production area. Schedule is Monday through Friday, normal business hours. Constantly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Location:
Position is onsite and is not remote eligible. Work hours are typically 40-50 hours a week with a one-hour unpaid lunch break daily. Work hours are predicated on the needs of the business.
Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards. The salary range for Monett, MO is also based upon geographical market standards for the industry and position in those areas.
There is a possibility of a bonus(es) based on individual performance and merit to be paid at the sole discretion of the company, but bonus(es) are not guaranteed unless outlined in writing in the offer letter extended to the candidate selected for the position.
