Quality Inspector

Role Summary

This role is a Quality Inspector role that requires a hands-on Quality Excellence mindset. The Quality Inspector is expected to be a technical and methodical expert at verifying quality requirements that have been achieved throughout the manufacturing and supply chain processes. Positive cross functional communication and collaboration is essential to proactively correcting and preventing defects. This role may or may not have direct reporting responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving inspection as needed on in-coming material and components ensuring compliance to customer and/or internal specification requirements.
  • Perform, verify, and/or document Quality in-process inspections to internal and/or external specifications, drawings, and procedures.
  • Perform required operational and procedural steps to Non-Conforming Product as required to ensure no escape in protocol.
  • Review, monitor, audit, and/or inspect the set-out, fit-up, weld maps, and welding operations to ensure acceptable procedural, process, and welded requirements are achieved.
  • Responsible for ensuring all quality records meet specification, procedural, customer, and industry requirements.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of the calibrated Testing, Measuring, and Monitoring Equipment.
  • Receives and verifies that the service job documentation records are complete then stores them in job folders.
  • Supports Internal Quality Management System audits (IOS 9001).
  • Support organizational Safety policies through action, supervision, and/or participation.
  • Perform other tasks or instructions as required to support business operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings to verify compliance and/or conformance to requirements.
  • Willingness to learn Quality Management Systems Processes and their application for delivering a quality product.
  • Capable of comprehending procedures and specifications and analyzing documented evidence to verify compliance and/or conformance to requirements.
  • Strong organizational and documentation control processing skills are required.
  • Ability to lead a quality culture and compliance throughout operations team.
  • Able to create or revise forms, procedures, and specifications using MS and Adobe software.
  • Able to interpret ISO 9001, and other industry specifications for compliance.

Qualification/Requirements

A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) completion with 2 years of Quality Control or Assurance Experience.

Working Conditions

Perform daily duties in a fabrication environment and office setting.

Pay: $56,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
