Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

The Incoming Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying the quality, accuracy, and safety compliance of all incoming materials and shipments. This role ensures that materials meet company and customer standards before being accepted into inventory. When not actively inspecting incoming deliveries, the inspector will support general quality assurance efforts, including line inspection, reboxing of materials, and assisting with various quality-related tasks and improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Incoming Material Inspection:
    • Verify part numbers, piece counts, and overall accuracy of incoming shipments.
    • Inspect materials for visual defects, damage, and adherence to quality standards.
    • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and traceability of received goods.
    • Confirm correct and safe stacking practices to prevent damage or safety risks.
    • Document non-conformances and communicate issues to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • General Quality Support:
    • Perform in-process quality checks as a line inspector to support production quality.
    • Assist in reboxing, repackaging, or relabeling of materials when needed.
    • Assist in material movement from warehouse/ receiving to inspection area
    • Assist in NPI activities for spec mapping from receiving product, gathering data to re-packing and getting ready for return.
    • Assist in inspection of vanity tops & producing packaging material on pack-size machine for RGA (replacement) orders.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
    • Assist in maintaining inspection records, logs, and reports.
    • Support continuous improvement projects and audit readiness efforts.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality inspection, receiving, cycle counting or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, labels, and specifications.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems or quality software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, inspecting, and reboxing materials.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Forklift certification is a plus.


Working Conditions:

This role is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. Standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 50 lbs) are required.
