Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards. This role requires strong blueprint reading ability, precision measurement skills, and confident decision-making regarding product acceptance or rejection.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer blueprints and engineering drawings
• Measure product using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other precision tools
• Perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished materials
• Make sound decisions regarding product acceptance and rejection
• Complete quality documentation and inspection reports accurately
• Ensure proper segregation of non-conforming material
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and leadership teams
• Assist with first-article and first-off inspections
• Support continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives
• Promote quality awareness on the shop floor

• Manufacturing or steel fabrication experience required
• Prior Quality Inspection or Quality Assurance experience preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools
• Basic math skills
• Willingness to learn inspection tools and techniques
• Positive “can-do” attitude
• Ability to work independently with guidance
