Quality Inspector – Precision Manufacturing (Mid-Level)

INNEX is a precision machine shop producing tight-tolerance components in steel, carbide, and ceramics. We are seeking a mid-level Quality Inspector who can independently manage inspection responsibilities, make sound accept/reject decisions, and help maintain consistent quality standards across the shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections independently
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T accurately
- Use standard inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, optical comparator) with confidence
- Evaluate part conformance and make appropriate accept/reject decisions
- Communicate issues clearly and escalate when necessary
- Work closely with machinists and operations to address quality concerns in real time
- Support adherence to established quality procedures and inspection standards
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of inspection experience in a machining environment
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and tight-tolerance inspection
- Ability to make independent, well-reasoned quality decisions
- Practical understanding of production environments and workflow
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Reliable, consistent, and accountable
- Must be able to read and interpret GD&T during the interview process
Preferred Experience
- Carbide and/or ceramic components
- ISO 9001 or structured QMS environments
- First article reporting and basic root cause analysis
Additional Information
This is not an entry-level role. The position requires an individual who can operate independently and take ownership of inspection outcomes.
