Quality Manager

"This position is within the Caleb Brett business vertical, which operates across the Oil & Gas, Marine, and Environmental industries"


The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System within the Caleb Brett operations & labs. This role ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, BIS, BPI, internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements across all testing, and inspection activities.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Overall responsible to develop, implement, and monitor the QMS to ensure its compliance to the requirements of:

  • ISO /IEC 17025, ISO 9001 & BIS
  • Accreditation / Approval bodies.
  • Any other requirements that arise from time to time.


2.Responsible for monitoring and ensuring:

  • The management system is implemented in various departments and appraise the management on its effectiveness.
  • Lead quality audits (internal and external) and manage corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Registration of customer complaints and its resolution by organizing for investigation, root cause analysis.
  • Train staff on QMS requirements, quality procedures, and testing standards.
  • Responsible for conducting periodic quality checks for the tests carried out in the LAB through appropriate tools like retest, Inter-laboratory, Intra-laboratory, proficiency tests etc.


3.Responsible for control of management system documents in the LAB.


4.Responsible for liaison with accreditation/approval /regulatory bodies regarding compliance & approval.


5. To review approve and issuance of all the quality management system documents.


6. To improve the management system and also to identify the deviation from the

management system or from procedure for performing tests and to initiate the

action to prevent or minimize such a deviation.

  • Coordinate and supervise quality inspection and testing activities under ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure participation in PT/ ILC, calibration, and maintenance of instruments.


Education Qualification: B. Sc /M. Sc in Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field.

Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or laboratory management, preferably within petroleum or chemical testing services.


Expertise at:

  • Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and laboratory accreditation processes.
  • Experience with auditing (internal/external) and regulatory compliance.
  • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 17025 is an advantage.
