POSITION SUMMARY
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and food safety within the manufacturing plant to ensure products meet regulatory, company, PepsiCo and customer standards. Develop and implement quality systems, drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage a team of quality professionals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assure consistent quality product through the development or modification of programs as needed, including but not limited to good manufacturing practices, prerequisite programs, preventative controls and critical control points.
  • Organize and manage audit teams for internal and external audits to validate conformance to current regulations as well as parent company requirements.
  • Lead food safety and compliance audits, including FSSC 22000, AIB, QAS.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the salaried quality professionals to ensure effective application of quality management techniques.
  • Build people capability through effective employe relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel.
  • Coach and train quality personnel to develop leadership, technical competence and effectively utilize system tools.
  • Provide training in the area of food science, regulatory requirements, and quality measurement systems to appropriate personnel.
  • Work with production, maintenance and warehouse teams across the plant by communicating quality procedures and developing long term sustainable practices to maintain superior quality processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues.
  • Ensure all internal and external sanitation is complete and properly meets quality standards.
  • Lead the interpretation of in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations, recommend actions for improvement, and assure resolution.
  • Lead risk assessment analysis. Manage issues with non-conforming product to ensure proper control, minimize loss, and provide analysis to drive the elimination of future occurrences.
  • Provides technical and process knowledge for water treatment / wastewater, product batching, product testing, package testing, sanitation and supplier capability.
  • Protect Pepsi-Cola trademark and ensure product integrity.
  • Monitor and develop corrective action plans to improve quality and consumer performance.
  • Establish and maintain communication with HQ quality.
  • Maintain parent company recipes and set them up / double check them after entry in batching systems.
  • Maintain hold log and determination status for release.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as required.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance or food safety experience in a consumer products company preferably with a soft drink business.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of process and compliance quality systems.
  • Training in Quality Leadership, PCQI 3, Micro & Sanitation.
  • License in Bottled Water OP.
  • Certificate in Food Defense Coordinator.
  • Understands GMP requirements.
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and AIB standards.

  • Travel is required to job sites, regional offices, and professional and community organization events.
