Quality Manager- Wind Project

Overview

Title: Quality Manager

Location: NEOM

The quality manager is responsible for managing the quality assurance and quality control activities of the project, ensuring that all deliverables meet the required quality standards. This role requires collaboration with the project management team to integrate quality management practices into all phases of the project lifecycle, from design to completion. The quality manager will ensure compliance with internal standards, industry regulations, and client specifications, and will implement corrective actions as needed to maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Planning and Review
  • Develop project-specific Quality Manual, QA Plans and Procedures, WPS, WPQ, WPQR, WPR, Mix design review & approval, inspection and test plan, inspection schedules, field quality plans, and SAT Procedures according to international standards, customer specifications and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare/review Method Statements and obtain required approvals from PD/CE.
  • Review supplier manufacturing quality plans, coordinate inspections at supplier end, review and approve supplier inspection/third party inspection reports and submit to client for approval.
  • Provide process/product related inputs and periodic reports to the client as required.
  • Plan quality orientation/training programs for workers, staff, subcontractors.
  • Identify testing laboratories and obtain approval.
  • Organize weekly/monthly project quality review meetings with project team.
Implementation
  • Ensure the availability of latest specifications and relevant standards/codes of practice.
  • Set up and monitor QA/QC procedures at the project site in line with guidelines, applicable law, company policy and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with site team, subcontractors and stakeholders to implement and monitor project-specific PQP/QMS plan at site.
Materials
  • Identify, calibrate, review and maintain list of testing and measuring equipment.
  • Inspect and test incoming materials and workmanship as per ITP and obtain client approval as required; maintain records with identification and traceability.
  • Coordinate with approved lab for conducting various tests of materials/activities. Obtain test reports and review results per project requirements.
  • Ensure proper interaction with Client, Site Laboratory and Site Team for project coordination.
Induction & Training
  • Implement orientation/training programs relating to Quality for new joiners and existing workers, staff, subcontractors as required.
  • Explain method statements clearly to relevant team members when starting any new process.
Audits
  • Arrange periodic Quality audits and workplace inspections by internal and external auditors, aligned with standards and codes, addressing non-conformities immediately.
  • Review and prepare corrective actions pertaining to client NCRs.
  • Raise NCRs for deviations and coordinate with respective departments for root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Quality Initiatives
  • Organize quality promotion campaigns and programs for staff and workers.
  • Reward and recognize staff following good quality practices regularly (e.g., monthly).
Reports and Meetings
  • Prepare and obtain approval for the QMS plan.
  • Attend weekly review meetings organized by PM with project management team and site personnel.
  • Assist to attend review meetings related to Quality issues.
  • Prepare and submit periodic review reports for all Quality Assurance and Quality Control issues to the PD.
  • Provide periodic audit and NCR reports to client/CE. Site representatives may contact QAM for non-conformity issues related to Quality when required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
  • Certifications for relevant quality management associations/institutes/accreditation bodies.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a similar capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience in EPC projects (Solar/Wind) at a leadership (QA/QC) position with an EPC company.
  • Proficiency in Arabic language.
