Position Summary:

The Quality & Supply Chain Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining and improving VerdeGo Aero’s quality management system, overseeing supplier quality, and supporting inventory, shipping, and receiving activities. This individual will play a key role in ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements while supporting day-to-day operations in a fast-paced aerospace startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems

• Maintain and improve the AS9100-compliant Quality Management System (QMS)
• Author, update, and control quality procedures, work instructions, and records
• Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
• Serve as a quality point of contact during customer and external audits

Supplier Quality

• Qualify, evaluate, and monitor suppliers for quality and performance
• Review supplier documentation, certifications, and compliance to requirements
• Lead supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and follow through to closure
• Collaborate with engineering and suppliers on quality issues and improvements

Incoming, In-Process, and Final Quality

• Perform or support incoming inspection and material verification
• Support nonconformance identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action
• Ensure traceability and documentation meet aerospace requirements

Supply Chain, Inventory & Logistics Support

• Support shipping and receiving activities to ensure proper documentation and traceability
• Maintain inventory accuracy and material control processes
• Coordinate with operations to ensure materials meet quality and schedule requirements

Cross-Functional Support

• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams
• Support process improvements across quality, inventory, and supplier management
• Contribute to scaling quality and supply chain processes as the company grows

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in aerospace quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality system requirements
• Experience writing and maintaining quality procedures and documentation
• Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier quality issues
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Obtain an Airport Operations Area (AOA) badge within the first month of employment
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, fast-moving organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• AS9100 internal auditor experience
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing or advanced propulsion systems
• Familiarity with inventory control and material traceability systems
• Experience supporting audits (customer, regulatory, or certification)

Physical demands:

• Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally.
• Work in an office setting as well as a Manufacturing Hangar environment.
