Responsibilities:

Participates in internal process and product audits.

Perform various levels of inspection: incoming receiving, in-process manufacturing and finished goods process audit.

Determine from blueprint and specifications the dimensions, processes and methods of inspection, precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers), gauges, tools and set-up required for checking surfaces and variations.

Participate in the implementation of product quality improvement initiatives to reduce process variation and prevent defects.

Use quality tools (and others) to troubleshoot, identify and analyze problems to the true root-cause level, and work with the appropriate teams to implement solutions and ensure the identified problems are resolved.

Is constructive and takes responsibility for needed actions to support quality and business goals.

Performs for facilitates scheduled calibration of quality tools.

Engage with production team members to conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) – 1-2 times per week.

Facilitate CARB / TSCA Title VI compliance audits as required.

Assist with Corrective Action Reports (C.A.R.’s) and follow ups as needed

Assist with continuous Improvement projects
- Train employees on QA tools and techniques as required.

Determines disposition of finished product by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting production and quality data; judging product acceptability in comparison to specifications.

Collects, analyzes, and presents quality-related data.

Attends, and participates in, Tier meetings as appropriate.

Must have Root Cause Experience

Technical degree Preferred, will consider candidates with relevant experience.

2-4 years of manufacturing experience (millwork, automotive or metals preferred.)

Prefer ability to obtain ASQ certifications (CQI & CQT) within 1 year.

Prefer Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or experience.

Ability to prioritize projects and the flexibility to deal with interruptions and reprioritize as needed.

Ability to work without direct supervision.

Must be able to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to use computer equipment and software applications (MS-Office Products, AX)

Ability to interface with external suppliers/customers, both in-person and In writing
