Quality Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for ensuring that sampling and finished goods meet Beneficial Blends specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform blending duties when needed.

· Perform lab sampling/testing of current and new products.

· New Product Development – equipment testing/validation/sampling.

· Environmental sampling.

· Finished product sampling for lab analysis.

· Blend sampling for lab analysis.

· Ghee cook and shear sampling for lab analysis.

· Ensure finished goods meet specifications thru review of quality and food safety checks, first piece inspection, layer inspection, fill weight verification, and other activities as necessary to meet requirements.

· Perform equipment pre-op inspection and complete log

· Complete product build sheet for each product produced

· Perform daily quality checks on line and record quality issues

· Perform chemical, thermometer, and scale verifications to ensure correct operation.

· Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

· Oversee startup and closing activities.

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED
· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Experience: 1 year in a Quality Control position preferred, preferably for a food manufacturing company.

· Certifications/Licenses: N/A

· Other Required knowledge, skills & abilities: Prefer knowledge of food safety regulations.

Working conditions
· Working environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will generally work in a manufacturing environment where appropriate attire and safety equipment are required. Some tasks may require working in an office environment.

· Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard instruments and equipment; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
