Quality Technician

Position Overview

This position assists in supporting and implementing the Company’s quality program.

Essential Job Functions

· Perform on-going product inspections as requested by the Development team and/or Quality Manager.

· Perform and help develop the inspection of incoming goods/materials.

· Basic Quality Training for new hire, this includes how to read SOP’s, what to look for when visually inspecting parts, how to use and read calipers and go-no gauges.

· Assist with testing and documentation of defective returns.

· Inspection and calibration of certain tools used within the company as specified by the quality manual.

· Collect data as instructed by the Quality Manager.

· Familiarity with various quality tools: Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, etc.

· Participate in Corrective Action (CA), Preventative Action (PA) and continuous improvement activities.

· Participate in final testing of material.

· Monitor production departments for quality procedures.

· Perform stock checks and assist in product quality investigations as required.

· Collect, report and maintain scrap from production departments.

· Ability to read and follow control plans for inspections.

· Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometer, pin gages, etc. in order to ensure parts meet specifications.

· Ensure that area is kept clean and maintained at all times.

· Assist in the completion of PPAPs for new and existing customers.

Non-Essential Job Functions

· Make recommendations as needed regarding testing equipment and the inspection of products.

· Work with Quality on scrap reduction and SOP’s

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Requirements

· Good communication skills

· Skill in organization and attention to detail

· Team oriented and positive attitude

· Ability to read and understand SOP’s and Product drawings

· Must be able to engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pull of parts and containers.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Must be able to drive (or learn to drive) forklift and operate pallet jacks in a safe and efficient manner

· Proficiency in computer systems and technology. Including MS Office applications

Education and Experience

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Desired Experience 1-3 Years (not required)

Pay: $46,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
