Quality Technician

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This position will perform daily inspections, checks, test and sampling procedures of components produced to ensure all parts manufactured meet the customers' quality standards. This position will work effectively with the engineers, technicians, and operators to resolve day to day quality issues and promote good quality principles. Duties

  • Conduct thorough quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems to verify product specifications.
  • Comply with all company rules and safety and environmental policies.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection and testing of purchased/raw materials and finished products.
  • Document all results of the inspections and testing in the QS-1234 system.
  • Prepare quality documents and reports as needed by management.
  • Read and understand part prints, control plans and work instructions.
  • Report any product defects to the Quality Engineers.
  • Turn on and off the Time controls in the QS-1234 system.
  • Maintain the gage issue log and issue gages to production as needed.
  • Clean and inspect gages and fixtures between runs to ensure they are in good working order and calibrated.
  • Responsible for the housekeeping of the Quality areas.
  • Block purchased and finished products that do not meet specification and then unblock the material once quality issues have been resolved.
  • Assist with Review of inspections and testing daily.
  • Assist with the development and training of the quality inspectors.
  • Investigate background of quality defects. Including inventory count, part sorting, relabeling, and inventory adjustment.
  • Complete reports/assignments in QS 1234 system, including problem announcements and 8Ds.
  • Use problem solving techniques to evaluate root cause, corrective and preventative actions for complaints in the QS-1234 system.
  • Assist with internal audits for IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3.

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of injection molding/thermoforming plastic experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of quality experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Experience conducting quality audits and inspections within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analysis skills to interpret data collected during inspections and audits effectively.
  • Ability to perform detailed documentation of inspection results and non-conformance reports accurately.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to managers and employees of the organization.

Production and Warehouse environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
