Quality Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our growing manufacturing and fabrication team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our products meet customer specifications and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment and possess knowledge of quality inspection practices. Experience with welding inspection and paint quality evaluation is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated and manufactured products.
- Verify dimensions and specifications using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Inspect welded assemblies for workmanship and compliance with quality requirements.
- Inspect painted products for coating quality, finish, coverage, and appearance.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials and products.
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in quality audits and support compliance with company quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, machining, and assembly operations.
- Welding knowledge or weld inspection experience is a plus.
- Paint inspection experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Current or previous CWI certification a plus
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of welding symbols and fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
- Experience in a metal fabrication, welding, or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of corrective action and continuous improvement processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding, grinding, painting, and fabrication operations.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
